2019 Women's Retreat

Creativity and self-care is important to our spiritual growth. As women, our thoughts and actions are almost solely focused on those around us. We nurture, care take, plan and stress over our loved ones. We are the task master, counselor and rock for which everything and everyone relies on. But without care and attention, even the strongest of foundations will crack.

At our “Faithfully Creative” women’s retreat on Saturday, February 23, we’ll connect with our inner artisan as we learn the importance of creativity and self-care as a spiritual discipline. The retreat will include a morning and afternoon breakout session where we worship our creator through various expressions of art. These sessions explore the many ways we can nurture our creative spirit and bring glory to God through our hands, voices and minds. Breakout session options include:

1)    Beyond clasp hands: Creative ways to pray

Encounter God in new ways as you move through various individual prayer stations.

2)    Joy and Celebration in Poetry and Prose: Writing for All Ages and All Levels

Learn how finely crafted words can help us pay closer attention to God’s world and all its glories.

3)    Love Letters: Handlettering Words of Faith

Learn and practice the art of handlettering as you create your own piece of scriptural word art.

4)    Flowing freely: Watercolor Art as a Faith Expression

Get inspired while expanding your painting skills and techniques as a reflection of God’s beauty.

5)    Creative Cards: Praise God with Paper and Paste

Use your creativity as a tool for worship and create spiritual cards that share God’s love.

6)    Living Liturgy in faithful movement

Allow the Spirit to move in and through you as we bring God’s Word to life through this expressive art form.

7)    Lift every voice

Through music and song, worship and praise our creator.

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. Psalm 139: 14
